Health can't be bottled, boxed, bagged or placed into a can

It’s easy to cut through the clutter, when you adopt the philosophy that health can’t be bottled, boxed, bagged, or placed into a can. Nutrient dense foods that are packed with phytochemicals and antioxidants that promote health and prevent disease are the quintessential definition of “healthy” food. These foods protect cells from physiological oxidation damage which promotes the onset of disease.

What exactly are "healthy" foods? Colorful whole plant based foods which include all fruits, vegetables, legumes, unrefined grains, nuts, and seeds. If the ingredient list contains more than 1 item (i.e. peanuts) or you can't pronounce the words, it does not fit the definition of a healthy food. Whole equals healthy and foods that fall under this definition require cleaning, prepping, cutting, and cooking which, by the way, all counts towards daily activity. Eating whole foods not only protects health but they get you fit in the kitchen ... two benefits for the price of one!

Healthy does not mean perfection and a healthy diet does not mean excluding all packaged foods it means eating mostly whole foods that fuel how you want to feel each and every day. It does not mean you can't have a bountiful bowl of ice cream every now and then!
